Dealing with the monotony.

Mookie is hard at work in a boom lift with Dad.

Letʼs be honest, sometimes you hate your job. The work feels endless, the mood sours, and the only thing keeping you there is the paycheck. Maybe youʼre saving up to pay an engineer, to fund a prototype, or to keep your bigger dream alive. You tell yourself itʼs temporary, but as days turn into weeks, then months, and sometimes even years, the “temporary” starts to feel permanent. Iʼve been there. Waking up every morning, dreading the routine, but knowing I need the income to keep building something better. It's easy to get stuck in the grind, let frustration take over, and wonder if any of it is worth it. But hereʼs what Iʼve learned: enjoying the process is essential-even when itʼs hard. Every shift, every task, every moment you wish you were somewhere else is still a part of your story. Youʼre learning lessons, even if it doesnʼt feel like it. Youʼre building resilience, discipline, and grit. These are the same qualities youʼll need when your dream finally takes off. I remind myself daily: donʼt let the temporary control you. Let it drive you. Let it make you hungry for more. Use every tough day as fuel for your passion. Some days, it feels like youʼre just sending your best effort out into the void, hoping for a response, a breakthrough, a sign that youʼre on the right path. You might not see results right away. Thatʼs okay. Persistence is what separates the dreamers from the doers. If youʼre in a job you hate, but youʼre there for a reason, donʼt give up.

Remember why you started. Remember what youʼre working toward. Fight for your passion with persistence. The hard days are building you for the good ones ahead. Write a blog post with this info. When the Job Drains You, But the Dream Keeps You Going. Find Meaning in the Mess. Keep Sending It—passion + Persistence = Progress. Find small ways to enjoy the process. Celebrate the little wins. Take pride in your discipline. Laugh at the absurdity when you can. Surround yourself with reminders of your “why”-the dream, the project, the life youʼre building. Youʼre not stuck. Youʼre in training. So keep going. Donʼt let the temporary become your forever. Let it be the fire that pushes you forward. One day, youʼll look back and realize: you didnʼt survive-you built something worth all the struggle. Learn and grow. Keep fighting. Keep building. The best is yet to come. I know it's a lot easier said than done, but don't give up yet. Enjoy the process, MUCHO take it easy, as my co-worker says to me.
